Bones Fractures the Truth About Factory Farms
Is the popular Fox TV show a Genesis Awards contender?
The Humane Society of the United States
With over a month to go before the
submissions deadline for The 24th Genesis Awards (March 20, 2010), it may be too early to speculate on which films, TV shows and documentaries will be nominated for next year’s celebration of the media’s coverage of animal protection issues. But last week’s episode of the hit Fox show,
Bones, "The Tough Man in the Tender Chicken", has to be in contention. Centered on a murder investigation at a factory farm, the story takes a no-holds-barred look at the inhumane slaughter of
chickens raised for food. A former
Genesis winner and nominee,
Bones continues to set a high standard for animal issue storylines in the Genesis Best Drama category.
