Michael Blackwell, DVM, MPH, a former deputy director for the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine, led a Capitol Hill briefing Tuesday on the issue of animal welfare and antibiotic use in animal agriculture calling for an end to antibiotic overuse in livestock production.

Maryland Attorney General Confirms that Tracey v. Solesky Decision Regarding Dogs Is Not Yet in Effect
In a turn of events welcomed by The HSUS, the Maryland Office of the Attorney General issued an opinion stating that the controversial Maryland Court of Appeals decision holding that all pit bull and pit bull type dogs are “inherently dangerous” is not yet in effect.
