Coordinator, Mail and Telemarketing

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation's largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Coordinator for the Mail and Telemarketing department. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support for the organization’s mail and telemarketing fundraising channels.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Trafficking postage requests and invoices through the department and work with the accounting team to ensure prompt payments; this includes distributing mail to appropriate staff, ensuring invoices are properly coded and logged for payment;
  • Updating and distributing the HSUS and affiliate’s mailing schedule to internal and external staff on a weekly basis;
  • Working with multiple agencies, assign project codes and review estimated and final mail plans to ensure accuracy before submitting to the information systems department for database updating;
  • Running database reports and updating the department testing report to ensure results are accurate and available for review by internal and external staff on a weekly basis;
  • Reviewing for accuracy all copy and artwork for the HSUS mail acquisition and Sustainer programs and The Fund for Animals mail program before trafficking to additional reviewers and ensuring that all edits are incorporated before giving agencies approval to print.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required;
  • Minimum of one to three years’ experience in an office environment required;
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat required;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and deliverables;
  • Must be reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Good communication skills and an interest in animal protection issues is strongly desired.
