Animal Caregiver I-Wildlife, Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking an Animal Caregiver I-Wildlife for its Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch. The main responsibility of this position is to assist with animal care and the operation and maintenance of the sanctuary. Other duties include, but are not limited to: provide psychological and physical enrichment to a variety of animals housed at the ranch; feed all animals according to dietary guidelines and feeding schedule; research proper nutrition requirements for animals; purchase required food products, medications, medical equipment, and supplies; organize storage, and stock supplies; repair and renovate existing animal pens and other ranch facilities and assist in the construction of new pens/facilities; clean kitchen, common areas, storage areas, pens, cages, and other areas; wash and store laundry; perform landscaping/grounds keeping duties. High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biology, zoology, wildlife science, or related field preferred. Must be willing to work with many types of wildlife and farmed animal species; work outdoors in variable weather conditions and be able to move/lift 50lbs, bend frequently, and stand throughout the workday.
