Campaign Manager-Horse Soring, Equine Protection
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Campaign Manager-Horse Soring for its Equine Protection Department. The main responsibility of this position is to lead the campaign to end the soring of American horses. Other duties include, but are not limited to: oversee, monitor, and adjust the strategy and work effort on the campaign, on all fronts; conduct research on soring in the horse show industry, including violators of state and federal animal protection laws, corruption, and other illegal activity; develop and manage the creation of campaign materials, LTEs, reports, fact sheets and online materials; educate the public on the issue of soring and build support for the campaign through the media, grassroots efforts, online campaigning, and other mediums; work with other HSUS departments and outside entities (both governmental and NGOs) to expose and prosecute industry violators. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field, along with one to three years’ experience highly desired. Project management skills and strong written and verbal communication skills strongly preferred.
