Estate & Trust Manager, Office of General Counsel

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking an Estate and Trust Manager for its Office of General Counsel.  The main responsibility of this position is to provide day-to-day management and administration of HSUS and HSUS affiliates portfolio of active estates and trusts.   Other duties include, but are not limited to: review estate documents to determine HSUS’s and/or HSUS affiliates’ interests and potential receivables; prepare and process initial contact correspondence, respond to routine requests for information and review and prepare appropriate forms and attachments; ensure the timely production of accurate work products and the smooth day-to-day operation of the estate and trust administration; receive, prepare, and process weekly deposits.  High school diploma or equivalent and either formal paralegal training or a minimum of seven years’ experience in a law firm, nonprofit or corporate legal office, or bank/trust department dealing with a very large and complex workload highly desired.  Excellent comprehensive understanding of probate and estate administration procedures strongly preferred.  Candidate must also be highly organized, have extraordinary attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
