Law Clerk (PT), Office of General Counsel

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a part-time Law Clerk for its Office of General Council. The main responsibility of this position is to assist the General Counsel with conducting legal research and drafting legal memoranda.  General practice areas include but are not limited to: contracts, torts, copyright, taxation, state and federal regulation of public charities, employment and benefits law. Second or third year law student preferred.  Strong written and verbal communication skills and research skills are essential. Understanding of lobbying regulations and federal, state, and local laws as they apply to a non-profit is desired.
