Manager, Conferences & Events

The Humane Society of the United States, the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Manager for its Conferences and Events department to manage the planning, scheduling and logistics of conferences hosted by The HSUS (Animal Care Expo and Taking Action for Animals) as well as other events as assigned by the director.  Other duties include, but are not limited to learning and working with an online registration program, editing and distribution of promotional and conference materials; initiating, scheduling and maintaining contacts with invited speakers; coordinating conference budgetary activities; overseeing arrangements and logistics with conference venue; exhibit sales ; managing on-site activities to include staffing and special functions; working with sponsorship manager to ensure sponsor recognition and benefits; vendor contract negotiation, menu planning, and managing meetings.  A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and experience in event planning strongly desired.  Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to travel preferred.
