Market Development Coordinator, Outreach & Engagement
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Market Development Coordinator for its Outreach and Engagement section. The main responsibility of this position is to advance our Rural Development and Outreach program throughout certain parts of the United States and to maintain the effort once the program is launched. Other duties include, but are not limited to: develop and implement an outreach extension program that provides information to family farmers and ranchers on the best practices for raising farm animals in higher animal welfare environments; develop and implement a program that will provide information to retailers, restaurants and other purchasers of farm animal products about higher farm animal welfare standards; provide leadership and direct support to the state directors in the management and development of the agriculture councils. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing or a related field along with four to six years’ experience is highly desired. Must have strong interest in animal agriculture issues. Strong communications skills (written and oral), strong leadership and organizational skills a must.
