Strategic Initiatives Manager, Faith Outreach
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Strategic Initiatives Manager for its Faith Outreach department. The primary responsibilities of this position are to raise awareness of faith communities and leaders on animal welfare issues and build support of animal welfare policies in each state. Duties related to the management of the Faith Outreach Volunteer program include recruiting, interviewing, training, monitoring progress towards organizational goals on a weekly basis, and coordinating between volunteers and state directors. Duties related to policy work include providing church leaders and staff with information, resources, and tools to equip them to support animal welfare policies. Other responsibilities include serving as a representative of The HSUS Faith Outreach program at conferences, events, and meetings; presenting the Faith Outreach program to prospective donors nationwide; and working alongside HSUS Development staff to build strategic partnerships and resources for the program. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Theology and one to three years of experience preferred. Knowledge of database management and website design is also highly desired. Ability to travel on a regular basis and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
