Manager Donor Prospect Research, Philanthropy
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Manager of Donor Prospect Research for its Philanthropy Department. The main responsibility of this position is to participate in a variety of duties including the collection, interpretation and documentation of data on current donors and prospective donors for full research profiles, briefings and updates. Other duties include, but are not limited to: establish procedures and devise strategies for, and participate in, the procurement of data using various research methods to including donor databases, electronic database searches and monitoring news sources; present information in a variety of written formats to include reports, summaries and abstracts; make graphic representations as required; advise Philanthropy staff concerning research results; conduct quarterly portfolio reviews with the regional philanthropy directors to maintain optimum portfolio composition and to incorporate new and emerging major gift prospects. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in related field with four to six years of related research experience highly desired. Experience in using Raiser’s Edge or other donor software required. Knowledge and proficiency in the use of research tools and advanced skills in technology-based systems (including but not limited word processing, spreadsheets, database, and internet based applications) is essential.
