Online Campaigns Strategist-HSI, Online Communications

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking an Online Campaigns Strategist-Humane Society International (HSI) for its Online Communications section. This position is located in Gaithersburg, Md.  The main responsibility for this position is to manage and produce the email marketing and other online programs for HSI Global, HSI Canada and other HSI entities to support the fundraising, advocacy and development goals of the organization and to effectively engage online advocates in our work.  Other duties include, but are not limited to: write, create, and send advocacy, fundraising, informational, event promotion, and other emails to segments of the organization’s online house file; manage online communications for the HSI Canada staff and team; manage, produce and post social media content for HSI Canada – including Twitter account, Facebook causes and Canada-related Facebook posts; manage, from concept to implementation, a variety of projects, ranging from infographics to interactive online programs.  Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, liberal arts, communications, or other relevant field or equivalent with at least three years’ experience in online content production preferably for an advocacy or other nonprofit organization highly desired.  Must have strong writing skills. Experience using CRM software such as Convio and Engaging Networks (formerly Advocacy Online) essential.  Basic HTML required; web design experience or skills strongly desired. Salary from mid to upper $40s.
