Bookkeeper, South Florida Wildlife Center
The South Florida Wildlife Center (SFWC) of The Humane Society of the Unites States is seeking a fulltime bookkeeper to provide support through the performance and management of daily accounting and financial functions. Duties include monitoring, administering and balancing the Center’s ledgers, accounts, budget, and payroll. Other duties include performing financial analyses and identifying trends, tracking/recording financial transactions, conducting weekly cash/income activities, assisting in developing procedures and policies to ensure best practices, submitting staff timesheets and payroll, and assisting in development/fundraising efforts by handling all financial matters (i.e. donations, auctions, registration, vendor payments, supply acquisitions, etc.). Bachelor degree in a related field or a minimum of five years equivalent experience required. Prior experience in budgeting, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable administration and financial analysis reporting strongly preferred. Superb organizational, written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are highly valued. Candidates must also have experience and working knowledge in basic computer word processing, accounting software and database systems. Non-profit experience is a plus.
