Director of Clinic Operations, South Florida Wildlife Center
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a Director of Clinic Operations for its South Florida Wildlife Center (SFWC). The main responsibility of this position is the overall health care and medical treatment of animals, and furthering the center’s mission. Other duties include, but are not limited to: determine and recommend for Executive Director’s approval for health/medical policy and protocols to achieve a high level of animal care; oversee veterinarians, veterinary technicians, interns and release staff to achieve assigned duties including medical care and regulatory compliance; oversee record-keeping/database systems for animal records; assume compliance with all regulatory agencies, including OSHA, DEA, DPR, and others; provide educational training for SFWC animal care staff. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent with four to six years’ of supervisory experience highly desired. Experience with wildlife, exotic and domestic animal medicine and emergency medicine protocol is essential. Familiarity with Florida wildlife behavior and habitat requirements preferred.
