A Night to Remember

Coming on the heels of an auspicious week for animals in California, with Governor Brown having signed seven animal protection bills into law, the event brought together more than 300 guests at the chic Terra Gallery.

Host Wendie Malick, star of the hit comedy series "Hot in Cleveland," introduced the evening’s program and HSUS president and CEO Wayne Pacelle, and spoke of her ongoing support for animal protection.

While the event was an opportunity to showcase the heroic work of the Animal Rescue Team, who appeared on stage to enthusiastic applause, it was also a night for recognizing and honoring the efforts of local animal groups and dignitaries. Humane Partner Awards were presented to the American Red Cross Bay Area’s Harold Brooks and to Maddie’s Fund co-founders Dave and Cheryl Duffield for their visionary leadership on behalf of animals in need in the Bay Area and beyond.

With rocking live entertainment from Bob Guiney and Scott Grimes of Band From TV and a spread of delicious gourmet vegan food, To the Rescue! San Francisco was a fitting tribute to the Animal Rescue Team and everyone who advocates on behalf of animals.
