Executive Director, Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust
Prior to his career at The Humane Society of the United States, Robert Koons led a successful career in commercial banking, business acquisition and turnarounds, and management consulting.
Subsequently, he devoted his time to the non-profit sector, in roles ranging from President of The Grand Canyon Association and Executive Director of the Robert T. Wilson Foundation, to his current appointment as the Executive Director of the Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust, an affiliate of The HSUS, based in Washington, D.C.
Koons is a graduate of Colby College with Executive Management training from Harvard Business School.
Formerly Board Chair of the Vital Ground Foundation and The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Koons is a true conservationist, with extensive board experience in the governance of land trusts and wildlife conservation organizations.
He now resides outside Washington, D.C., with his wife Jan.
