Oklahoma State Director

Cynthia Armstrong

Active in animal protection since the late 1980s, Cynthia Armstrong joined The HSUS as the Oklahoma state director in 2005.

Armstrong previously was campaign manager for the Oklahoma Coalition Against Cockfighting, helping to spearhead a ban on cockfighting in that state.

She served as president and founding member of the Oklahoma Humane Federation, and as president of Volunteers for Animal Welfare. She was also on the boards of the Association of Certified Cruelty Investigators and Central Oklahoma Humane Society, and was a member of the Citizens' Advisory Committee to the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division.

Currently, Armstrong is an advisory member of Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue in Jones, Okla. 

Armstrong is a native Oklahoman, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, and a resident of Oklahoma City.
