Delaware State Director

Hetti Brown

  • Hetti Brown is The HSUS's state director for Delaware. Terry Lilley

When Hetti Brown joined The HSUS as our Delaware state director after 11 years of marketing and sales in the private sector, she finally realized her dream of working full time for animal advocacy.

Even before joining the team, however, Brown was no stranger to animal advocacy.

As the vice president and co-founder of Delaware Voters for Animals, Brown built strong alliances with key stakeholders in the state. She lobbied for a variety of federal and state animal welfare legislation—anti-tethering laws, laws banning shark finning, and coyote-hunting bills.

Brown also has experience in wildlife rehabilitation and, with strong family roots in farming, is passionate about farm animal protection and rural outreach.

As our Delaware state director, Brown continues building pro-animal coalitions, engaging the community in compassionate advocacy, and coordinating legislative efforts for animal protection.

Brown received her bachelor's degree in biology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She and her husband share their Wilmington home with their two rescued Shih-Tzu mixes, Petey and Lucy, as well as their cat, Clara.
