New Hampshire State Director and Northeast Regional Director

Joanne Bourbeau

Joanne Bourbeau serves as The HSUS's northeast regional director as well as senior state director for New Hampshire.

Before joining The HSUS in 1995, Bourbeau served as shelter manager for the New Hampshire SPCA.

Bourbeau serves on the board of the New Hampshire Federation of Humane Organizations. She represents The HSUS on the New Hampshire Governor's Commission on the Humane Treatment of Animals. Additionally, she is on the board of the New Hampshire Disaster Animal Response Team.

Bourbeau earned a bachelor's degree in animal science from the University of New Hampshire in 1987 and a certificate in non-profit business management from Johns Hopkins University in 2001. 

A native New Englander, she lives in Vermont with her husband and their daughter and three adopted cats.
