Illinois State Director
As our Illinois state director, Kristen Strawbridge is active on many fronts to promote animal welfare legislation, fight animal cruelty, respond to animals in danger from man-made and natural disasters, and engage like-minded citizens to promote the protection of animals.
Before coming to The HSUS, Strawbridge worked as an attorney at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. While there, she was appointed by the Governor's legislative firector to serve as a liaison to the Joint Task Force on Breeding and Pet Stores.
In law school, Strawbridge was involved with the Animal Law Society and interned in U.S. Senator Dick Durbin's office. She received a B.S. from Indiana University and a J.D. from the John Marshall Law School.
