Virginia State Director
As the Virginia state director for The HSUS, Laura Donahue helps animals through legislation, corporate campaigns, citizen advocacy, coalition building, and other projects of local and national scope.
Previously, Donahue served as the coordinator for Ohioans for Humane Farms, a campaign which led to a historic agreement between agricultural and animal welfare stakeholders, resulting in an array of domestic and farm animal reforms in Ohio.
Donahue holds a master's degree in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, with a specialization in social action and community development. Before working on animal issues, she engaged in legislative advocacy on behalf of youth-focused community coalitions.
Donahue resides in Richmond with her two beloved canines and enjoys frequent trips to visit her family in Arlington and Charlottesville.
