Lydia Sattler is The HSUS's Mississippi state director. Pete Marovich
A former animal shelter director and animal control officer, Lydia Sattler came to The HSUS in 2010 as our Mississippi state director.
Previously, Sattler initiated a humane education program for grades K-6 and a humane youth group for middle school students, and she guided high school students in humane legislative efforts in Mississippi.
Sattler received the "Mo Gatto" award in Hancock county in 2009 for her dedication to animals and animal welfare, much of which focused on feral cat spay/neuter efforts in her hometown.
Currently, Sattler provides animal cruelty training to law enforcement throughout the state, and hosts low-cost spay/neuter clinics for dogs and cats in the state. She also volunteers as a wildlife rehabilitator and resides in south Mississippi with her family, dogs, cats, and horses.
