Carly Cascio
Michelle Cascio is deputy manager of The HSUS’ Puppy Mill Task Force, with a 20-year career in animal sheltering.
She works with law enforcement, animal shelters, and other agencies to investigate cruelty in puppy mills, providing guidance on enforcement of state and local regulations and codes.
She developed The HSUS' Emergency Services Placement Partners program, which coordinates local animal rescue organizations willing to accept rescued animals from The HSUS into their care for recovery and to find permanent homes.
Before joining The HSUS in 2007, Cascio was the shelter manager for the Washington Humane Society, assisting humane officers in responding to cruelty complaints. She also managed the volunteer program for Trenton Animal Shelter, working alongside the staff to improve shelter conditions and running the off-site adoption program.
