Manager, Emergency Placement Partners
With a 20-year career in animal sheltering and humane law enforcement, Michelle Cascio is manager of The HSUS's Emergency Placement Partners program.
As EPP manager, she oversees relationships with hundreds of local humane organizations around the country that offer animal care and placement for animals rescued from cruelty by the Animal Rescue Team.
Our EPPs are part of a national mission to save dogs, cats, and other animals from life-threatening harm.
Members of the EPP program include animal shelters, rescue groups, and other humane organizations. It takes a diverse group of caring, responsible placement partners to meet the needs of the rescued animals and find them new loving families.
Cascio has also been part of The HSUS's Shelter Services team, as well as deputy manager of the Puppy Mill Task Force.
Before joining The HSUS in 2007, Cascio was the shelter manager for the Washington Humane Society. She also managed the volunteer program for Trenton Animal Shelter, working alongside the staff to improve shelter conditions and running the off-site adoption program.
