As equine cruelty specialist for The HSUS' Animal Rescue Team, Stacy Segal works closely with law enforcement, citizens, and the horse rescue community to help neglected and abused equines.

Her work has included investigating large-scale neglect cases, negotiating the release of horses in the slaughter pipeline, and working to end the mistreatment of cart horses in Baltimore City.  

Before her current position, Segal worked with The HSUS' Equine Protection program developing programs to educate the public about responsible horse ownership. Segal has served on the boards of the Pennsylvania Equine Council, the Pennsylvania Equine Foundation, and the Pittsburgh-based Homeless Cat Management Team.
