  • Massachusetts: Oppose deer culling

    The deer culling is about to commence in Massachusetts and we need your voice. Despite a majority of comments at the public hearings in September 2015 that were strongly opposed to a proposed deer hunt in the Blue Hills (an area that has not been hunted in for 100 years), the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) announced that this hunt is moving forward for 2016 and will now allow bow hunting, a practice that commonly leaves deer suffering slow, painful deaths.

    Massachusetts, farm animals need your help. Lawmakers who opposed the Act to Prevent Cruelty to Farm Animals are now pushing to establish a deceptive livestock board. Their new measure, H.441, would create a politically unaccountable board that could put agribusiness interests over the safety and protection of animals in Massachusetts.

    Now is the time for Massachusetts to put an end to the cruelty towards elephants used in entertainment. A growing number of states, counties and cities, including nine municipalities in Massachusetts, are passing important legislation to address the cruel treatment of elephants.
