2010 CITES Conference
Resolution urging the U.S. delegation to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) to: (1) support proposals to assign "endangered" status to polar bears and blue fin tuna, and "threatened" status to certain shark species; (2) oppose proposals to down-list African elephants from "endangered" to "potentially threatened" status; and (3) withdraw the U.S. proposal to remove bobcats from the list of "potentially threatened" species.

Adoptions of Military Working Dogs
To authorize the adoption of a military working dog by the family of a deceased or seriously wounded member of the Armed Forces who was the handler of the dog.

Aerial Hunting of Wildlife
To amend the federal Airborne Hunting Act to bar the shooting of wolves, bears, and other predators from aircraft except in limited cases involving a designated biological emergency.

Animal Cruelty-Human Violence Resolution
To designate May 2009 as National Link Awareness Month in recognition of the link between animal cruelty and other forms of societal violence.

Animals in Military Research
To require that only human-based methods be used for training members of the Armed Forces in the treatment of severe combat and chemical and biological injuries.

Antibiotic Resistance (Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act)
To phase out the routine non-therapeutic use of antibiotics in farm animals -- a common practice to promote growth and compensate for overcrowded, stressful, unsanitary conditions on factory farms -- in order to maintain the effectiveness of antibiotics for treating sick people and animals.

Bear Protection Act of 2009
To prohibit the importation, exportation, and interstate trade of bear viscera and items, products, or substances containing, or labeled or advertised as containing, bear viscera.

Bird-Safe Buildings Act
To direct the General Services Administration to (1) incorporate bird-safe building materials and design features into public buildings and (2) address interior and exterior lighting’s impacts on birds.

Class B Dealers
To prohibit the sale of “random source” (as opposed to purpose-bred) dogs and cats by Class B dealers for research purposes.

Crane Conservation Act
To assist in the conservation of cranes by supporting and providing, through projects of experts in crane conservation, financial resources for the conservation programs of countries the activities of which directly or indirectly affect cranes and the ecosystems of cranes.
