The name ‘Phoenix’ means one who is supremely beautiful, rare, or unique and her name is befitting. This petite mare exudes sensitivity, moves gracefully, and seeks to please. A bit reticent at first, she warms quickly to a kind hand. She is most often the first to greet you in the pasture.
Phoenix comes to DDHRAC from a seizure in Mountain Home, Ark. along with several other emaciated horses. Her exact breeding is unknown, although she appears to have a bit of Arab in her lines and carries her tail high when emotional or moving with speed.
She is currently being evaluated by the DDHRAC team to determine her potential for placement. Given her young age, we expect her rehabilitation and training to go nicely, but we also expect that she may need just a bit more time to gain confidence under saddle.
