Ranger comes to us from a rescue in Arkansas. He was one of several horses who experienced both cruelty and neglect at the hands of humans.

A sweet, almost shy boy, who becomes a ‘pocket pony’ once he knows he can trust you and better still, that you may bring cookies. Ranger is the kind of horse who will bond strongly to that special person … one who has a gentle hand in exploring and playing together.

Ranger is currently under assessment by the DDHRAC staff, but is reported to be confident under saddle, well mannered on the ground, and to be a great all-around trail horse. We expect Ranger to become available for adoption in November, and that he may make a good beginner-intermediate horse. Apparently, he experienced harsh treatment under the bit, so his adopter must have extra soft hands to keep his confidence. More to come on Ranger as we learn more about him!
