The majestic trumpeter, mute, and tundra swans all call the United States home. Trumpeter and mute swans were looking down the barrel of extinction from over-hunting before the government stepped in. Despite this, mute swans are still in trouble. Tundra swans breed in remote areas and so have been a little luckier.
