Reward Offered in Osage Beach, Mo., Dog Abandonment Case
The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information about the abandonment of four small dogs overnight Thursday in Osage Beach, Mo. The $2,500 reward is in addition to a $250 reward offered by Dogwood Animal Shelter, raising the total reward offered in this case to $2,750.

Missouri Dept. of Agriculture Imposes Crippling Tax on Cash-Strapped Animal Shelters and Rescue Groups
The Humane Society of the United States, the ASPCA and Best Friends Animal Society offered mixed reviews of the new animal care standards for large-scale commercial puppy mills recently finalized by the Missouri Department of Agriculture, noting that some of the standards have been strengthened while others have been significantly weakened during the agency’s rulemaking process.
