Animal Incidents at the Circus
Using wild animals in entertainment can be dangerous to the audience and the animals
A circus elephant broke loose after a performance and injured a ticket taker. A circus performer was mauled to death by three tigers during a performance. A baby elephant died after being forced to perform two shows while ill. Incidents like these are all too common. They serve as a body of evidence against keeping wild animals in captivity and forcing them to perform tricks for public amusement.
This document lists accidents, attacks, abuses and other incidents at circuses around the world.
