Check out this list of things you can do to help animals killed for their fur.

Don't support it

When compassionate consumers take a stand against the fur industry by refusing to purchase its products, designers will stop using fur, retailers will stop selling it, and fashion writers will stop reporting on it as an acceptable trend. You have that power with every purchase you make. Take a moment to sign our fur-free pledge.

Support fur-free retailers and designers

More and more retailers and designers are rejecting animal cruelty and potential consumer deception by adopting fur-free policies. Listed on our fur-free list are those who've announced that they don't sell animal fur or are phasing in a fur-free policy. Please support retailers and designers that have made a commitment to being fur-free.

Write letters—thank the ones on our fur-free list, and urge others to join it

Contact retailers or designers who sell fur and let them know that you will not support companies that support cruelty. Then let us know which retailers are selling fur so we can contact them about joining our fur-free list. If you think that the company has a fur-free policy, please ask to have this confirmed in writing and forward correspondence and/or responses to furfree@humanesociety.org.

Speak up and educate

Writing letters to the editor to your local newspapers is a great way to get the word out about fur in your community. Another great way to educate others is by ordering our free fur-free campaign brochure to leaflet at a local clothing retailer that sells animal fur or fur trim or conduct a class presentation.

Hit the town in fur-free gear

Let people know how you feel about fur with fur-free merchandise (and get the shirt ... get the button ... get the bag).
