Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board Votes to Phase Out Veal Crates
The Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board reversed a vote taken on March 1 that sanctioned confinement of veal calves in crates so small they’re unable to turn around for more than half of their lives before slaughter.

New York State Lawmakers Asked to Protect Animals at Humane Lobby Day 2011 in Albany
New York animal advocates are meeting with state lawmakers in Albany today for Humane Lobby Day 2011, and urging support of bills to upgrade laws against animal fighting, canned hunting, cutting cows' tails off and other factory farming abuses. The HSUS organized Lobby Day with the sponsorship of Farm Sanctuary, Humane Society of New York and New York State Humane Association.
