Research Institutions Respond to Pressure
Institutions that reportedly obtain dogs and cats from Class B dealers are being asked to sever those ties
The Humane Society of the United States is urging animal lovers to contact universities, hospitals and other research institutions known to have purchased dogs or cats from Class B dealers in the recent past and who have either chosen not to respond to repeated requests for confirmation that they no longer engage in this practice or have stated that they continue this practice.
In response to pressure from constituent emails generated by an action alert, the following institutions have confirmed that they no longer use, or are currently moving away from using, dogs and cats obtained by Class B dealers.
