Animal Fighting Tip Line Update
The HSUS' animal fighting tip line goes national.
The tip line will be answered by HSUS staff experienced in investigating animal fighting cases and working directly with law enforcement agencies to collect evidence and build cases against individuals involved with animal fighting. The activity is illegal in all 50 states.
As of June 5, 2009, The HSUS and Norred & Associates jointly decided to end Norred's role in fielding the initial reports.
Through a generous donation by the Holland M. Ware Charitable Foundation, The HSUS offers rewards of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person or people involved in illegal animal fighting. In 2008, The HSUS paid 26 rewards for tips that resulted in successful cases against dogfighters and cockfighters.
