HSI/Canada Celebrates Canadian Transportation Agency Decision Confirming Air Canada’s Right to Refuse Shipments of Primates for Research
Humane Society International/Canada, Animal Alliance of Canada and Justice for Animals welcome a ruling by the Canadian Transportation Agency, confirming the right of Air Canada to refuse the live shipment of primates destined for laboratories, where they would be for toxicity testing, research or other harmful laboratory experiments.

History of The Genesis Awards Benefit Gala
In 1986, The Genesis Awards event was launched by animal advocate and actress Gretchen Wyler, under the aegis of The Fund For Animals. Now presented by The HSUS, the Genesis Awards Benefit Gala is held annually in Beverly Hills, California at a star-studded ceremony drawing representatives from the media, entertainment industry, social, business and humane communities.

The HSUS Offers Reward in Intentional Trapping of Hebron, Ind., Dog
The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for killing a Northwest Indiana dog named Pearl. The chained dog stepped into a trap that was intentionally set in close proximity to her temporary post, according to police.
