“Meet Billy” Wins CINE Golden Eagle Award

The online video, “Meet Billy,” was awarded a CINE Golden Eagle Award under the motivational category. “Meet Billy” follows the story of Billy, a Chihuahua used as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. Billy had been trapped in a cage rusted shut when his rescuer, Adam Parascandola, director of cruelty response for The HSUS, saved him and gave him a second chance. Produced by Jamie Linder, video and multimedia producer for The HSUS, “Meet Billy” has since reached almost one million views.

After the video was produced, Billy unexpectedly passed away after years of untreated medical conditions in a puppy mill deteriorated his body. “Meet Billy” continues to spread Billy’s legacy and rallies support against puppy mills.
