Buyer Beware: Real Animal Fur Sold as “Faux” on MyHabit.com

MyHabit, an Amazon-owned fashion website, sold multiple real animal fur items advertised as “faux.” An investigator for the Humane Society of the United States made the discovery.

In 2014, MyHabit.com was found advertising a pair of Sarajane gloves and a W118 by Walter Baker jacket as containing “faux fur.” Upon purchase and inspection, The HSUS discovered the fur in both items was actually real.

Despite attempts by The HSUS to educate MyHabit staff on the cruelty of the fur trade and problems associated with advertising and labeling, the online retailer continues to sell animal fur.

The HSUS is asking MyHabit.com to go fur-free.
