Rescued Chatham County Animals to Be Available for Adoption to New Homes

Following the rescue of 190 animals from unsafe and unsanitary conditions, they are being surrendered to Chatham County Animal Services.

Kim Alboum, director of the Emergency Placement Partner Program for The Humane Society of the United States said: “Many of our wonderful Emergency Placement Partners in the Southeast will be receiving animals from this case over the next few days. Our partners are ready and waiting to get them started on the next part of their journey.”

The animals will be moved to the Chatham County Animal Services and the following HSUS Emergency Placement Partners where they will be healing and awaiting adoption:

  • North Carolina: Safe Haven for Cats, SPCA of Wake County, Red Dog Farm, Horse Helpers of the High Country, Carolina Waterfowl
  • Virginia: Norfolk SPCA, Virginia Beach SPCA, Angels of Assisi, Lost Dog and Cat Rescue, Angels of Assisi
  • Washington, D.C.: Washington Animal Rescue League
