Natchez-Adams County Humane Society Braces for Expected Flooding along Mississippi River
The Humane Society of the United States deploys Animal Rescue Team to assist
In preparation for flooding expected to occur along the Mississippi River, The Humane Society of the United States will transport more than 100 dogs from Natchez-Adams County Humane Society to make room for the influx of animals the shelter expects in the coming days. NACHS will serve as a temporary emergency shelter for evacuees’ pets.
These animals will travel from Mississippi to HSUS Emergency Placement Partners throughout Florida. The partners are animal shelters, rescue groups and other humane organizations that choose to join The HSUS' national network to take in animals from large-scale animal abuse and rescue cases.
