Animal Welfare Groups Urge Missouri Legislature to Repeal Burdensome Tax on Animal Shelters
The Humane Society of the United States, the ASPCA®, Best Friends Animal Society and other animal welfare organizations commend State Rep. Jeanne Kirkton, D-Webster Groves, and 39 cosponsors for introducing legislation, H.B. 1654, to repeal a burdensome state tax on nonprofit animal shelters and rescue groups.

Seaboard Foods’ Response to Undercover Animal Cruelty Investigation Prompts Second Complaint to Federal Agencies
The Humane Society of the United States has filed supplemental complaints with both the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Federal Trade Commission regarding false and misleading statements being made by Seaboard Foods in response to a recent undercover investigation video of one of the company’s Oklahoma pig breeding facilities.
