The HSUS Applauds Appointment of Ben Hueso as New Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee Chair
Thanks outgoing chairman Jared Huffman for his great leadership and accomplishments
The following is a statement from Jennifer Fearing, California senior state director of The Humane Society of the United States, on Speaker John Pérez’s, D-Los Angeles, appointment of Assemblymember Ben Hueso, D-San Diego, as the new chairperson of the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee.
“The Humane Society of the United States is delighted to see Speaker Pérez select someone of Assemblymember Hueso's caliber and thoughtfulness to lead the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee. We look forward to working with him and the members of his committee to defend California’s wildlife from poaching, abuse and cruelty. We know that Ben Hueso will continue in outgoing chairman Jared Huffman’s tradition of being a great leader on wildlife protection issues in California.”
