Delaware Animal Advocates Lobby Lawmakers to Protect Sharks, Pets and Wildlife
Delaware residents concerned about animal welfare converged on the state capitol for Humane Lobby Day. Advocates met with their legislators to lobby for strong animal welfare laws, such as House Bill 41, which would prohibit the sale of shark fins in Delaware and end the state’s role in the cruel global shark finning industry.

The HSUS Applauds Maryland General Assembly for Legislative Advances
The Maryland General Assembly adjourned on Monday after passing three meaningful laws to protect animals and considering several other important measures. Lawmakers approved bills to protect consumers who purchase sick puppies from pet stores, to strengthen the Department of Natural Resources’ ability to crack down on illegal poaching, and to extend the task force established in 2011 to study spay and neuter funding for the state.

Animal Advocates Lobby Illinois Lawmakers on Legislation to Ban Cow Tail Docking, Shark Fins
During Humane Lobby Day 2012, citizens from across Illinois met with lawmakers at the Capitol and urged them to pass legislation that bans tail docking of cattle and stops the cruel trade in shark fins in the state.
