More Than 100 Dogs Rescued From Va. Puppy Mill
More than 100 dogs have a new chance for happiness after rescuers with The Humane Society of the United States arrived in southern Virginia to work with Augusta County Animal Control and the Virginia State Veterinarian???s office to remove them from a deplorable puppy mill operation. The removal of the dogs followed an inspection by local authorities with the assistance of the HSUS' Wilde Puppy Mill Task Force.

New Nationwide Investigation of Petland Reveals Continued Support of Puppy Mills
The HSUS has released new evidence against Petland, the nation's largest chain of pet stores that sells puppy mill dogs. A six-month search of public animal transport records in multiple states has revealed that more than 95 percent of the retail chain's stores are supporting puppy mills by purchasing their dogs from large-scale dog brokers and/or directly from puppy mill operations.
