    Animal Advocates Lobby Oklahoma Lawmakers for Animal Welfare Legislation

    Citizens from across Oklahoma participating in The HSUS' Humane Lobby Day 2011 met with lawmakers Monday at the Capitol to urge them to oppose SB773 which would significantly weaken the Commercial Pet Breeders Act which was passed in 2010 to crack down on puppy mills in Oklahoma. Citizen lobbyists will also ask legislators to strengthen penalties for spectators at dogfights.

Citizen advocates urged legislators to strengthen laws to crack down on animal fighting and prohibit coyote and fox penning, and to oppose captive trophy hunts.
