Strange v. Carnahan

Lawsuit filed by Missouri dog breeders challenging the Missouri Secretary of State’s certification of the ballot initiative summary statement and the Missouri State Auditor’s preparation of a fiscal impact statement related to a proposed citizen’s ballot initiative titled the Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act. The initiative would impose better humane standards on approximately 3,000 puppy mills. The Humane Society of Missouri, an organization partnering with The HSUS and others to sponsor the initiative, intervened in the lawsuit to defend the initiative.
