The Cloud Foundation v. Bureau of Land Management (Wild horses)
Amicus participant in an administrative appeal challenging the Bureau of Land Management's decision to administer PZP fertility control (Porcine Zona Pelludica immunocontraception vaccine) on the Pryor Mountain wild horse herd located in Montana and Wyoming. As an alternative to cruel helicopter round-ups, The HSUS supports the use of Porcine Zona Pelludica (PZP) immunocontraception vaccine on select mares in the Pryor Mountain wild horse herd. Groups opposed to horse contraception filed an appeal to prevent the BLM from using PZP. In September 2005, the U.S. Department of Interior Board of Land Appeals issued an order allowing the Bureau of Land Management to use the vaccine.
