Puppy Mill Victory in Texas
Judge sides with dogs and animal rescue groups
A Texas judge awarded ownership of more than 500 dogs (and approximately 15 cats) rescued during a Kaufman County puppy mill raid to The Humane Society of the United States.
Celebrating the release of the animals, Scotlund Haisley, senior director of Emergency Services for The HSUS, says, "This is also a victory for the community, who have come out in droves to assist these animals."
This rescue operation is made possible in part from funding provided to The HSUS by the Kenneth and Lillian Wilde Foundation, who created the Wilde Puppy Mill Task Force to rescue animals from abusive puppy mills.
