Lorraine Snebold is the Senior Vice President of Communications for the HSUS and its affiliates.
Snebold leads the Brand, Creative, Video, Visual Arts and Public Relations teams, as well as Editorial, which provides the strategic voice for the entire organization and publishes three award-winning magazines: All Animals, Animal Sheltering and Humane Activist for the Humane Society Legislative Fund.
Prior to joining the HSUS, Snebold ran Absolute Focus, Inc., a successful strategic brand and research practice helping start-ups, turn-arounds, networks and nonprofits with storytelling, employee engagement and brand building.
As VP of Communications and Marketing at Independent Sector, the powerful thought leadership network of 600 nonprofits, foundations and corporate giving programs, Snebold orchestrated a contemporary re-brand and reinvented messaging to distill complex issues down to concise communication (social media) with visual impact and passionate storytelling about the critical public policy issues that impact the entire charitable community. She advanced programs and initiatives and worked to establish best in class communication strategies for the nonprofit sector.
On January 1, 2001, as the SVP of Brand Management/Creative, she helped launch the National Geographic Channel, which remains one of the most successful launches in cable history and her teams won more honors and global awards than any other nonfiction network.
She began her career in TV news, ran marketing and programming at multiple major market stations and served on the CBS Marketing Executives Caucus for six years, two as Chairperson.
