Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control will receive a grant of $6,000 from The Humane Society of the United States to support its partner agency, Chicago Animal Care and Control. In recent weeks, the CACC has absorbed unexpected expenses helping its community respond to an outbreak of canine flu. The grant will help cover a portion of costs related to extra disease control measures.

Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control is a non-profit agency that partners with the city animal shelter to supplement its limited financial resources and expand community support for animals. FCACC spokesperson, Charlie Propsom, encourages Chicagoans to get involved. The group welcomes volunteers, financial donations, and in-kind donations. Currently, canned dog food is at the top of the agency’s wish list.

Anyone interested in making a financial or in-kind donation in support of the Chicago Animal Care and Control should contact FCACC at 773-743-9000, 773-743-5760 or
